User Review , Business
Ok. I can't really say enough about Yelp being an internet bully especially when it comes to smaller businesses. I understand that you have to keep a site moving by having advertisements and what not. But when it comes to small business owners wanting control over their own yelp page and web presence, it should not cost them an arm and a leg. Because people who review a business' page can post and comment and review what they think about the business, but the business has no control (unless they spend hundreds of dollars MONTHLY) in managing, interacting, and adjusting their appearance on yelp. I am talking about businesses having a say in specific photos being the first photos instead of a blurry photo of some reviewer's cake. That blurry photo could affect business in a negative way, and said company is not responsible for the poor blurry advertisement. And YELP completely stifles honest businesses and their right to further their success. Yelp would not EXIST without businesses that WANT reviews and want to grow through customer reviews. So Yelp needs to really reconsider how they treat the companies being reviewed, if they want to keep that site running. Their technical support and service is poor and anyone trying to get answers from them will hang up with empty unsatisfied pockets. Yelp favors businesses that contribute hefty membership fees, and that leaves little room for smaller businesses to grow. Yelp feeds into monopolizing chain businesses and therefore hurts the economy. It is corrupt.

And to climb into this horrific dark dank rabbit hole even further, if reviewers on yelp want to leave REVIEWS... then I think we should be able to REVIEW THE REVIEWER. Just because this person doesn't like the sushi, how do I KNOW that they don't eat fish sticks everyday, and spicy tuna is completely whack to them. To be honest, anyone who eats fish sticks daily is not someone I'd go to seeking advice.

That's my two cents and some change on yelp from a business owner's standpoint instead of a reviewer.

I LOVE HOMESTAR RUNNER!!! So much fun, and it totally blazed the trail for online shorts, cartoons, webseries. It is one of the first and it is done so well, I highly recommend visiting this site. I gave service/support four stars cause they went off the grid for a few years, and that bummed me out. BUT it is heart warming and easy to get sucked into.
YES YES YES. This is what I'm talkin' about! I'm always like -- hey Netflix, don't be playin games with my heart. Sometimes my shows aren't on you, but they are your European side. And I can handle hearing a no, from you, but when my neighbors are telling me that they saw my shows on you, I get super jealous. This site is easy to navigate and I can just get a simple "yes/no/only in Europe" kind of answer. It's clear when I need clarity, it's quick and always there for me, it's like Netflix's best friend who can be friends with everyone.

I LOVE POST SECRET. For me, it's like opening the art section of the newspaper on a Sunday morning. Originally it was a book, and now turned to the internet (because that's how projects and things and even PEOPLE survive). The layout is great, it is ad free, and it promotes discussions about suicide, mental health issues, racism. That's functionality people. It's easy to use, not only do you get to see into people's thoughts, they get to see what they create with a piece of mail. Great site to get lost in.

YAASSSSSSSSS.

Instagram is my JAM. I post on all other sites via instagram. My life is in photos through my eyes, with an unlimited number of characters below it. The ability to tag or just Cc: anyone is great. And with every post you have the option to post or NOT POST to any other websites (i.e. twitter, facebook, tumblr). Privacy settings are solid, however you aren't allowed to edit your captions without taking the whole post down (so censor accordingly). Instagram is just so so sweet in so many ways... I could go on and on but you get the point. IG me: Rachel_Adams8

Ok, so I get imgur is a great way for people to share and post and comment, but there are other sites that just do it better. Imgur has never been iphone friendly as far as I'm aware. Loading it also takes more time, and the layout makes viewing it ... not so pleasant. I think imgur is a more image based meme site, as opposed to tumblr which could be a journaling site AND image based meme site. And if imgur's main purpose is more for image sharing/viewing why wouldn't the layout be more clear?

Rented a cabin in the Sequoias through this site. FANTASTIC. The site is safe and makes you feel safe about interacting with strangers and using their space. Lots of room for photos, and you can easily filter out specifics in searches. I hope this site remains as ease, it has already exploded but still continues to be a great service offering affordable unique places to stay.

Priceline

Travel , By Air
I have the most luck finding the best priced flights on Priceline. The layout is easy to read and gives you the overall price of flights roundtrip (as opposed to figuring out the cost to and from indivdually). However, I ran into a snag with trip insurance. They advertise if you buy trip insurance, you're guaranteed a refund if you have any last minute cancellations, or if you needed to change your flight.
NOT true -- you have to be deathly ill or have an actual death, THATS trip insurance. So it's a waste of an extra $16-$20 unless you PLAN ON DYING. I ended up calling service/support and fighting tooth and nail to change my "insured" flight. They were "unable" to help me.
SO -- I called the airline directly and they were lovely. Be warned -- its a great site to find reasonable price flights, but they should be more clear about insurance terms, and the support should be more flexible with return customers.

What's on Netflix

What's on Netflix

http://whats-on-netflix.com

Reference , Film & Television
Guys... I wanted this site to be so much more. I can't tell you how much I look on netflix for archaic films and it's not always clear if they REALLY aren't on Netflix. This site should clarify that, but it's mostly a site for reading up on netflix news. They way the site ran for me, it was not black and white whether something is or is not on Netflix. It was also hard to use the search button. I realize that this site is supposed to be Netflix NEWS based, but the site name does not bring me to that conclusion.
The layout is clean but headlines aren't in a clear news format, and the search layout is hard to hop from article to article.

You guys, let's be real. Facebook is on it's way out. It has become overwhelming, cluttered, and no longer my favorite tool for internet stalking. It is no longer a way to reconnect or stay connect, it is now a platform for behind-the-times-users to shout into the abyss of the internet. If you want to keep an online presence post from other sites, and then link those sites up to your facebook. Facebook is that guy at your highschool reunion who is still doing beer bongs and driving his el camino.

I'm a cord cutter and love hulu. They do a great job of providing up to date programming for most shows and the service is quite reliable. Their original programming isn't quite as good as their competitors, but pretty darn close. My main gripes are, 1) No CBS of CW shows, so I have to use differ...

Good follow up to the History of Rome. Clear Narrative, I like that he generally sticks to mid-length episodes, but alters the length when needed.
