Film & Television , Video Streaming

HBO GO is a website that carries 1,000 hours of program content available for streaming in standard or high definition. Intended as a TV Everywhere service available only to existing subscribers of the linear HBO television channels (a requirement necessary to access its content via Roku, Apple TV and select video game consoles), content available on HBO GO includes HBO original programs, movies, comedy specials, documentaries, sports and late night adult programming. It is available to HBO subscribers of Verizon FIOS, AT&T U-verse, Google TV, Cox Communications, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, DirecTV, Dish Network, Suddenlink Communications, and Charter Communications. The HBO GO iPad, iPhone and Android apps were first released on April 29, 2011. The app was downloaded over one million times in its first week, and had over three million downloads by the end of June 2011. In January 2012, Time Warner Cable formally launched HBO GO after beta testing of the new service was completed.

I think this entire site is a bunch of bullshit. I love the idea of having a site that is really just a damn window into a service you are paying for.

Screw that. I already bought the damn internet. I pay for it every damn month. Let me in the damn site. Or charge me for access. Don't, literally, force me to give Time Warner Cable more of my hard earned cash. Just take it from me yourselves. Cut out the evil middle man.

Fuck it. I'm going to go review Time Warner next.

Yes yes yes!

HBO GO is fantastic!

Having HBO shows in their entirety, as well as a fantastic selection of films, right at your finger tips is great. The film selection is DEFINITELY better than HuluPlus', and it still offers you the ability to binge like we've all learned to do from Netflix!

I've had a few problems with things loading, but that could be an issue on my end.

I'm pretty positive that only 7 people in the world actually bought this and we're all sharing their login.

Dear Travelzoo,

This is a love letter. Are you beautiful? Mmmm... you're pretty but let's not be hyperbolic and say you're gorgeous. I mean, you're definitely not fugly or anything! (4 stars!) You could try a little harder but we all know that it's what's on the inside that counts....

Such a fantastic podcast!
Duncan has a knack for narrative history, taking all the disparate stories and facts and weaving it all together into a story that's fun and engaging.
It's also very well researched.
Would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in history.

I think the site looks dull now. I hope it evolves into more modern design. And also consider user experience.

I heartily agree with the reviews on this podcast series left so far by other listeners. I've not yet listened to Mike Duncan's History of Rome podcast (though I'm now inspired to do so), but the History of Byzantium podcast is a tour de force from Robin. He has done a sterling and balanced job...

I have found the History of English podcast absolutely riveting; in fact, I 'binged- listened' my way through the first 100 or so episodes, and am very relieved that there are clearly many more to come :-). History via etymology - a great concept, well-delivered by Kevin. Highly recommended.
