BuzzFeed is a social news and entertainment website. Founded in 2006 in New York City as a viral lab by Jonah Peretti, the company has grown into a global media and technology company covering topics like Politics, DIY, Animals, Longform and Business. In 2012, Ben Smith of Politico was hired as Editor-in-Chief, and is responsible for expanding the site into serious journalism, long-form and reportage while maintaining its popular fun and entertainment-oriented content. BuzzFeed is now believed to be profitable as a result of tripling its advertising revenue in 2012 and again in 2013.

Born as a clickbait, arbitrage website completely devoid of any substance or content - it somehow took that concept and made it worse.

Buzzfeed is known as the laughingstock of the internet, for its truly vile cesspool of social justice warriors, for its overly dramatic authoritarians-in-denial, and for the website's absolute refusal to be held accountable for what the site publishes.

The website hides sponsored articles in amongst regular "articles" which are typically lists or quizzes aimed at the lowest common denominator, and when it attempts to do more "serious journalism", the result is completely unabashed defense of the rabid, radical, extreme left and a total assault on free speech and conservative thought.

To say Buzzfeed has no credibility is to understate things greatly.

Bored of the internet? You've come to the right place. Literally thousands of lists and viral videos to waste time that could be spent doing something productive. Extremely useful for procrastination. At a bar and need to pretend like you're doing something productive on your phone to avoid social interaction? Download the app!!

Have you ever made a grocery list and not bought everything because some things you wanted are full of awful calories that'll give you diabetes?

Don't become the Wilford Brimley of literature.

BuzzFeed is shit. Read a book, asshole.

The videos here and the content is beyond epic! I love these guys! I LITERALLY CRY OF LAUGHTER! This is my favorite waste of time <3 :') I have liked their Facebook page too and I also follow them of YouTube. As for the layout of the website, it should be improved. It gets a lil annoying at times. Other than that, I LOVE IT!

Ok. I can't really say enough about Yelp being an internet bully especially when it comes to smaller businesses. I understand that you have to keep a site moving by having advertisements and what not. But when it comes to small business owners wanting control over their own yelp page and web pr...

Such a fantastic podcast!
Duncan has a knack for narrative history, taking all the disparate stories and facts and weaving it all together into a story that's fun and engaging.
It's also very well researched.
Would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in history.

I think the site looks dull now. I hope it evolves into more modern design. And also consider user experience.

I heartily agree with the reviews on this podcast series left so far by other listeners. I've not yet listened to Mike Duncan's History of Rome podcast (though I'm now inspired to do so), but the History of Byzantium podcast is a tour de force from Robin. He has done a sterling and balanced job...

I have found the History of English podcast absolutely riveting; in fact, I 'binged- listened' my way through the first 100 or so episodes, and am very relieved that there are clearly many more to come :-). History via etymology - a great concept, well-delivered by Kevin. Highly recommended.
