Video Streaming , Social Networks

Vimeo is the home for high-quality videos and the people who love them. It is a U.S.-based video-sharing website on which users can upload, share and view videos.

Vimeo was founded in November 2004 by Jake Lodwick and Zach Klein, who left the company in 2007 and 2008 respectively. The name Vimeo was created by Lodwick, as a play on the words video and me. Vimeo is also an anagram of the word movie. IAC/InterActiveCorp purchased Vimeo in August 2006, as part of its acquisition of Connected Ventures. In January 2009, Dae Mellencamp joined IAC as General Manager of Vimeo. She served as the CEO of Vimeo until March 19, 2012 when Kerry Trainor joined Vimeo as the CEO. As of September 2013, Vimeo's search feature requires Google Analytics to work properly and users of Firefox and Chrome web browsers cannot search on Vimeo without disabling privacy protection.

Classy YouTube for fancy high quality videos when you're sending someone a project for professional reasons and not funny cat videos or prank fails.

I like the esthetic and it's very user friendly. As has been said, it's like fancy YouTube.

This is a decidedly tacky reason to dislike a site: I can't pull my videos.

I'm always trying to hunt down my own work footage, and sometimes people are rubbish at getting it to you. So when people post a video (without the ability to download it) on vimeo, my beautiful wondershare software is unable to download it.

For most of you, this is a probably a GREAT thing (I mean, videos shouldn't just be nabbed from the internet), but it's just a pain sometimes. However, the video quality is incredible, and for ones own personal use and upload, you really can't beat it.

Even though the general quality of Vimeo is spectacular, I believe that Youtube handles better my limited bandwidth. Also, Vimeo's first page is horrible, it just doesn't promote its content

I'm a cord cutter and love hulu. They do a great job of providing up to date programming for most shows and the service is quite reliable. Their original programming isn't quite as good as their competitors, but pretty darn close. My main gripes are, 1) No CBS of CW shows, so I have to use differ...

So, there isn't much to be said other than subscribing to Netflix is almost a necessity if you enjoy television. Their original programming is amazing and they have a great backlog of older television shows and some movies. The only thing I am disappointed about is that their movie selection is s...

I have been a GQ magazine reader for years and their website has just as high quality as the print publication. Now, specifically, they are doing a great job covering the 2017 political climate in a fair and unbiased way.

Good follow up to the History of Rome. Clear Narrative, I like that he generally sticks to mid-length episodes, but alters the length when needed.
