Slate is a United States English language online current affairs and culture magazine created in 1996 by former New Republic editor Michael Kinsley, initially under the ownership of Microsoft as part of MSN. On 21 December 2004 it was purchased by The Washington Post Company. Since 4 June 2008 Slate has been managed by The Slate Group, an online publishing entity created by Graham Holdings Company to develop and manage web-only magazines.

Since June 2008, David Plotz has served as the editor of Slate. He had been the deputy editor to Jacob Weisberg, Slate's editor from 2002 until his designation as the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of The Slate Group. The Washington Post Company's John Alderman is Slate's publisher. Slate, which is updated daily, covers politics, arts and culture, sports, and news. The magazine is known (and sometimes criticized) for adopting contrarian positions. It is ad-supported and has been available to read free of charge since 1999.

Their original programming isn't quite as good as their competitors, but pretty darn close. My main gripes are, 1) No CBS of CW shows, so I have to use differ...

So, there isn't much to be said other than subscribing to Netflix is almost a necessity if you enjoy television. Their original programming is amazing and they have a great backlog of older television shows and some movies. The only thing I am disappointed about is that their movie selection is s...

I have been a GQ magazine reader for years and their website has just as high quality as the print publication. Now, specifically, they are doing a great job covering the 2017 political climate in a fair and unbiased way.

The History of Byzantium

Good follow up to the History of Rome. Clear Narrative, I like that he generally sticks to mid-length episodes, but alters the length when needed.
