Food , Shopping

GrubHub is an online food ordering company in the United States. Headquartered in Chicago, it was founded in 2004 by Mike Evans and Matt Maloney.

GrubHub won the University of Chicago Booth School of Business's New Venture Challenge in 2006 and received its first round of venture capital in 2007, allowing it to expand its service to Boston and San Francisco. In September 2011, the company announced that it had raised an additional 50 million dollars in capital and was acquiring New York based Dotmenu, the parent company of Campusfood and Allmenus. The acquisition allowed GrubHub to establish a presence on more than 300 college campuses. GrubHub currently has menus for more than 250,000 restaurants and allows customers to order online from nearly 20,000 restaurants in the more than 500 American cities.

Here's the thing.

Like a lot of people, I don't like...yknow...getting up and doing stuff. Especially if that stuff can be brought to me by strangers that I don't have to force conversation with. Because people are bad, and conversations with them are just worse.

So if I can get on my iPhone (or those other dumb phones people have) and order food to be brought to me from several different outlets, that's just a better option. And then I just write "don't look me in the eye" when the guy brings me the food, and I don't even have to worry about whether or not he has change for a twenty and like accidentally give me Canadian quarters like that one dude from Domino's, so it's pretty great.

Those things are literally worthless here.

That guy was an ass.

Definitely use this because lazy.

Thank goodness for online delivery!

I generally like GrubHub. It's nice that so many small restaurants now have the opportunity to add online ordering to their services.

My only issue is that in the past, GrubHub has allowed me to order from restaurants that aren't open, and alerted to me about this AFTER I placed my order. My card wasn't charged, but it was annoying to have my time wasted like that.

This history podcast is the work of Mike Duncan, who wrote and narrated the epic 'History of Rome' podcast.

So far he has covered the English (very good), American (excellent) and French (very good) revolutions. All in lots of detail, from the 'seeds of change' that led up to th...

Such a fantastic podcast!
Duncan has a knack for narrative history, taking all the disparate stories and facts and weaving it all together into a story that's fun and engaging.
It's also very well researched.
Would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in history.

I think the site looks dull now. I hope it evolves into more modern design. And also consider user experience.

I heartily agree with the reviews on this podcast series left so far by other listeners. I've not yet listened to Mike Duncan's History of Rome podcast (though I'm now inspired to do so), but the History of Byzantium podcast is a tour de force from Robin. He has done a sterling and balanced job...

I have found the History of English podcast absolutely riveting; in fact, I 'binged- listened' my way through the first 100 or so episodes, and am very relieved that there are clearly many more to come :-). History via etymology - a great concept, well-delivered by Kevin. Highly recommended.
